Graham has spent two decades developing innovative solutions to propel artists & labels to success. His 360-degree understanding of the music industry stems from collaborations with prominent independents such as Believe, Rough Trade, Tru Thoughts, Cr2 and Mr Bongo, among a distinguished list of others.

Experience as a successful DJ and producer gives him a deep understanding of the balance between creative pursuits and commercial realities. Graham's ability to seamlessly blend the two has been instrumental in guiding many artists and labels to their aspirations, amidst an ever-evolving landscape.

The legendary label & retailer, Mr Bongo

Graham stepped into a vastly different musical world in the mid-1990s. His early journey was a tapestry of rave, jungle, pirate radio, hip hop, commercial dance and big room sounds.

Inspired by local DJ heroes, Mr Thing and George Andrews, Graham immersed himself in Maidstone's vibrant music scenes, soaking up the energy and spirit of the era. This early exposure laid the foundation for his own DJing journey, which flourished in Brighton's exciting scene in the early 2000’s. It was here that he discovered the wealth of soul, jazz, African and Brazilian sounds that would later shape his work with Mr Bongo.

During his time at Tru Thoughts Graham worked with Bonobo, Quantic, Alice Russell and Mr Scruff

Graham's route into working in the music industry was one of sheer hard work. He promoted his own club session, ‘Basement Soul’, worked closely with Russ Dewbury on ‘Jazz Rooms’ and ran Tru Thoughts ‘Phonic Hoop’, alongside internships at Tru Thoughts, Skint and finally, Mr Bongo.

In 2005, Graham landed a permanent role at Mr Bongo, where he was able to develop their interest in nascent social media communication, digital downloads and e-commerce. Getting in on the ground floor with platforms like Cubecart and OS Commerce, he saw the potential of early direct-to-fan retail, which has gone on to underpin globally successful artist-driven models such as Bandcamp.

Identifying the growing impact of digital technology on the music industry, Graham co-founded a consultancy called Out To Sea in 2012, which worked in the space between digital strategy, online sales, search engine optimisation, and social media.

Events at RAPPCATS in LA played a vital part in establishing Mr Bongo in the United States

Over the following decade, Graham was instrumental in expanding the reach, relevance, and revenue of Mr Bongo, now one of the most respected reissue labels for a community of DJs, collectors, and fans around the world. When he stepped back from his role as Director in 2019, the business had grown to include a new Brighton-based record shop, a US operation, and a substantial, sustainable bottom line.

Alongside developing the business, Graham was able to channel his creative energy into A&R for successful Mr Bongo acts such as Karol Conka, Hollie Cook, Kit Sebastian, Jungle Brown, and Matty Tavares of BadBadNotGood. He was instrumental in the early stages of house music label WOLF Music, owned by Stu Clark and Matt Neale, which has released music by Bicep, Dam Swindle, Session Victim and Graham's own production project, Greymatter.

The Pressure Makes Diamonds record label, with Gary Johnson, launched in the same year.

In 2020, Graham developed the location-based music platform, ‘Lemonade’, with XR and healthcare specialist Sarah Ticho, funded by Innovate UK.

In August 2021, an opportunity arose for Graham to join leading global digital distributor, Believe. As Head of b:electronic UK he works with some of the most respected names in dance & electronic music including Fatboy Slim, Cr2, Shogun Audio, Metalheadz, Rinse, Hospital Records, Katy B, Hot Since 82, Vigro Deep, Solardo and Idris Elba.
